Visa
Before you go please make sure you have enquired about your visa requirements for each
country you want to visit. Most nationalities can obtain a 90-day visa on arrival into the
country. Visa requirements vary with nationality and change frequently, so make sure
you confirm your appropriate embassy for your visa requirements and check out the link
below.

Passport
Please make sure you give your passport details to Hafeni Brothers Adventures before
you start your tour, best is a photocopy. Your passport has to be valid at least 6 months
past the point of return to your home country. You also need one clear page in your
passport for each country you visit in Africa and two clear pages next to each other for
South Africa. If you have dual citizenship and two passports please make sure you only
travel on one passport for the whole duration of your stay in Africa, as some countries
dont recognise dual citizenship.
Insurance
Travel insurance is essential when travelling with us. Without the evidence of a valid
policy you WILL NOT be allowed to start your tour with us.
| Money |
- Tour price
Our website shows up to date tour prices in US dollars, which covers the land trip only
(no airfares). To check the exchange rate please visit www.xe.com (The site
doesnt include bank exchange fees).
|
- What is the local payment?
The local payment is an amount payed at the pre-departure meeting held on the first day
of the tour to your guide in US dollars, CASH ONLY. This money is used to run the tour
and pays for all parks, ferries, activities listed as included, covers food (meals while
camping NOT in hostels) and camping costs. It is part of the cost of your tour and is
neither tips nor pocket money for the guide.
|
- Deposit
To secure your booking we require a 10% non-refundable deposit of the tour price. The
final payment is due not later than 60 days before the tour starts.
You can pay via PayPal (see online booking form) or direct
bank transfer.
|
- Spending Money
All food while staying at hostels is at your own expense as well as drinks, laundry,
souvenirs, taxis and optional activities. Please consider carefully how much you want to
spend and bring cash in US dollars and a credit card. Most of your spending money
should be in US dollars as it is the easiest currency to exchange.
Visa Card is the most widely accepted credit card. MasterCard and American Express are
only accepted in selected locations. Be aware that some providers charge high fees when
using credit cards. Please note that all ATMs will ONLY dispense cash in local currency.
Travellers Cheques are more secure than cash but can be difficult and time consuming to
change and often involve high additional fees.
|
- Tipping
Tipping is widely practiced in Southern Africa. In restaurants and bars, 10% to 20% is
the accepted tipping standard. You also may want to include some money for local tips as
good local guides and crewmembers can make your trip a great experience.
